Rob Johnson
President
Rob Johnson has 20+ years experience in software development, sales, and small business management. Prior to founding Lone Tree, Rob was Software Architect for Kodiak Systems (1999), Parklink Inc. (2000), and Red Oak Solutions (2000/2001), a series of start-up firms attempting to bring enterprise software solutions to the commercial parking industry. From 1995 - 1999, Rob was Senior Software Engineer / US Software Manager with STEAG Electronic Systems, a German manufacturer of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. In this position, Rob managed S/W engineers and projects in 5 different states plus 2 locations in Germany. He served as the primary software liaison with key customers. From 1990 to 1995, Rob was Vice President of Operations for K & J Food Marketing, Inc., the family- owned food brokerage business. Rob has a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Montana and has done graduate studies in Computer Science and Business at the University of Idaho and St. Edward's University.
In addition to Rob's extensive software design and development experience, Rob also brings an ear for the customer - Rob works hard to understand the customer's true needs and finds innovative, yet practical and cost-effective solutions, to the problem at hand. Rob understands that for the customer, RESULTS are what matter, not fancy technical explanations of why something can or can't be done.
Gary Bartel
Business Development Manager
Originally from the East Coast where he was a competitive swimmer in both high school and college, Gary has combined his competitive spirit along with his desire for assisting others in his sales career. Gary attended the University of Maryland and Adelphi University where he majored in Financial Planning and Government and Public Affairs. Gary also is a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician which he has done as a volunteer for over four years.
Prior to joining Lone Tree Technology Gary was the sales manager for a local value added reseller that specializes in the electronic content management environment. Prior to that he had a number of development positions with such top of the line content management companies as Hyland Software and Perceptive Vision. With these organizations Gary was successfully responsible for the development and care of both a national and regional channel team. Before entering the computer software industry Gary had spent over 15 years in the financial services industry with Shearson Lehman Brothers where he specialized in fixed income securities for property and casualty insurance companies.
Patrick Reed
Senior Software Developer / Architect
Patrick Reed has 15+ years of experience in software development and consulting. He has extensive Restaurant and Hospitality experience, having consulted for such companies as Chart House, Outback Steakhouse, Allied Domecq Retailing, Papagino's & D'Angelo's, Boston Market and Restaurant Data Concepts (Positouch). Patrick's specific areas of expertise include point-of-sale systems integration, back office inventory management systems and large-scale hospitality technology deployment.
Prior to joining Lone Tree, Patrick was an independent Software Consultant.
Patrick holds a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Indiana University and a Master's Degree in Computer Science from the University of South Carolina.
Ed Barstad
Senior Software Developer / Architect
A native of Colorado, Ed Barstad received his education in mathematics, statistics, operations research, and computer science at Stanford University. He brings to Lone Tree Technology more than twenty years of experience spanning every aspect of business software development and has held positions or consulted in both public and private sectors ranging from city government and small, start-up companies to large, multi-national corporations. Ed's breadth and depth of technical knowledge and expertise in analysis, architectural design, and implementation have contributed significantly to the successful release of award-winning commercial software applications. These include a pen-based, graphical collision estimating system and an employment labor law audit expert system.
Prior to joining Lone Tree Technology, Ed was Vice President of Product Engineering and Technology for Columbia Ultimate, consulting as Chief Architect for their newly distributed, enterprise applications. Between 1995 and 2000 Ed worked as a consultant to a variety of companies including MCI, Information Handling Services, MapQuest.com, and eHealthInsurance Services. In the early nineties, Ed provided technical leadership and served as Application Architect at ADP Claims Solutions Group and was a methodologist with Logical Conclusions, Inc. teaching structured development training seminars and refining and enhancing methodology. Earlier in his career, Ed held various software development positions at a customs brokerage firm, a toothbrush manufacturer, and the City of Redwood City, California.
Darryl Neil
Software Support Technician
Born in California, Darryl came to Colorado in July, 2004 to continue his pursuit of a career in technology. Darryl has accumulated over five years experience developing software applications in Visual Basic versions 5, 6 and dot Net as well as database and Network administration experience and website maintenance. From 2001 to 2003, Darryl worked for Field Data, Inc. as a developer for Farmers Insurance rating applications, maintaining Homeowners and Landlord Protector Policy applications for 28 states. There, he found an interest in developing applications for use in the office and started Neil Custom Software Solutions, LLC, geared toward ease of use applications for the small office. Darryl also has many years of experience in a Customer Support oriented environment with multiple companies.
